IntentFeed
PRIVACY & DATA HANDLING · MVP

Your attention belongs to you.
So does your data.

IntentFeed is an independent discovery application using YouTube API Services. Using it also means agreeing to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

What we store

Google sign-in creates an IntentFeed account with your name, email, image, and identity identifier. Your modes, instructions, explicit preferences, saved video IDs, IntentFeed recommendation history, and session goals are stored in PostgreSQL. We use secure session cookies to keep you signed in.

Owner approval

Creating an account does not grant product access. The owner sees your name, email, request date, and approval status and can approve, reject, or suspend access. IntentFeed keeps an audit of these decisions. Pending or suspended accounts cannot use AI, discovery, or connect YouTube, but can sign out or delete their own account. No approval emails are sent automatically. Deleting an account removes its identifying references from decision records.

A separate YouTube connection

You can use public discovery without connecting YouTube. Connecting grants read-only access to available channel identity, subscriptions, playlists, and liked videos. OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest and never returned to your browser. IntentFeed never changes your subscriptions or likes.

AI and external services

Your submitted instructions and session goals are sent to the operator-configured AI provider. In the AWS setup this is Amazon Bedrock, invoked through an IAM-protected Lambda. We do not send your YouTube history, account identity, OAuth tokens, or video metadata to the model. You can manually edit all rules. A basic parser keeps the editor useful when AI is unavailable.

Retention

YouTube API response caches expire after 15 minutes and are removed during application maintenance. Saved videos and activity store video IDs rather than permanent copies of YouTube metadata; displayed metadata is fetched afresh. Usage counters are deleted after 31 days. Your own IntentFeed preferences persist until reset or deletion. Daily maintenance removes expired records even when no users sign in. Encrypted database backups are retained for seven days, so deleted data may remain in backups until they expire.

Disconnect, reset, or delete

Settings lets you revoke YouTube authorization and immediately remove your connected-data cache. Reset learned preferences removes feedback without removing modes. Delete account removes your account, sessions, modes, preferences, saves, and IntentFeed activity. These actions do not delete data held by YouTube. You can also revoke Google access directly.

Playback and demo data

Opening a video loads the official YouTube embedded player, governed by Google’s policies. No video starts automatically. The demo uses fictional content and stores demo changes in your browser. It does not authenticate or call YouTube or AI services.
